The gold standard for measuring patient satisfaction at U.S. hospitals is the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or HCAHPS.

The charts that follow show Our Lady of the Lake's patient satisfaction results and how they stack up with similarly-sized hospitals nationwide of 600 beds or more.

Our Lady of the Lake's patient satisfaction scores improved across the board in 2018. In particular, the Hospital Rating improved to 75.4 percent, a jump of more than four percentage points from the previous year. Patients' willingness to recommend also saw a six percent increase over 2018.

Patient Advisory Council

The Patient Advisory Council was formed in 2017, made up of patients and family members who had an experience at Our Lady of the Lake over the past two years. The Council embraces their perspectives - sharing, encouraging a higher level of care and helping improve the patient's and family's overall experience.
