Spiritual Care Services

As a Catholic hospital, Our Lady of the Lake strives to minister to the spiritual needs or patients and families. Our staff of interdenominational chaplains in the Pastoral Services Department is trained to assist patients and their families with the spiritual problems of illness and to provide the appropriate prayers, sacraments, counseling and spiritual presence.

Patients and their families, regardless of religious denomination, may request a visit from a member of the Pastoral Care team at any time.

Communion is offered daily to patients who wish to receive. Visiting clergy from all denominations are encouraged to minister to patients from their congregations.

As a special service to local churches, the Pastoral Care department has a file the religious preference expressed by patients at the time of their admission. Unless instructed otherwise, the Pastoral Care Department provides this information upon request to local visiting clergy.

The Mediation Room is available for quiet prayer or reflection. This room acknowledges the cultural, spiritual and religious diversity of our patients, families, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and staff.
