Performance Highlights
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Our Lady of the Lake Ascension were each awarded an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group’s spring 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. The designation recognizes Our Lady of the Lake’s efforts in protecting patients from harm and providing safer healthcare.
- Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center was named Hospital of the Year by the Louisiana State Nurses Association and the Louisiana Nurses Foundation. It was the eighth time in ten years and ninth time overall the hospital earned the distinction among the state’s largest hospitals with 600 beds or more.
- Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, formerly St. Elizabeth Hospital, was named Louisiana’s Hospital of the Year among small hospitals. It was the sixth time the hospital has been recognized.
- The Louisiana State Nurses Foundation named Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU) Louisiana’s nursing program of the year in 2018.
- Our Lady of the Lake scored among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for medical excellence and patient safety in 17 clinical categories by CareChex®.

Our Lady of the Lake has held Magnet® status for excellence in nursing services since 2010 by the American Nurses Credential Center’s Magnet Recognition Program®. Only the top eight percent of hospitals achieve Magnet status.
- Our Lady of the Lake received the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain Center Accreditation and was recognized as the first facility in Louisiana to earn Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Accreditation
- Our Lady of the Lake once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. It is the region’s first Primary Stroke Center, a designation first earned in 2012.
