Senior Companion Program
Our Lady of the Lake's Senior Companion Program is federally funded by AmeriCorps Seniors and offers assistance to the frail elderly who are homebound, to persons 21 years and older who are disabled, and provides respite for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients living at home.

Companions monitor the safety of their clients, assist with daily living activities, prepare light meals, and provide friendship by talking, listening, playing games or cards, and other activities. This assistance enables clients to remain living independently in their own home for as long as possible.

Volunteers
The Senior Companion Program is comprised of volunteers ages 55 and older who receive a small stipend as compensation for volunteering at least 15 hours per week. Companions also receive mileage reimbursement, paid holidays, sick leave, annual leave, paid training and an annual recognition events.
