St. Anthony's Home

Support for those disabled due to HIV / AIDS

St. Anthony's Home is an assisted living residence for people who require support due to being disabled from HIV/ AIDS, sponsored by Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. St. Anthony's Home has been in operation for 23 years.

The philosophy of St. Anthony's Home is based on the Christian idea of service and respect for the dignity of every individual. This demands sensitivity to human suffering, respect for the integrity and sacredness of the human person, compassionate concern for human infirmity and an abiding interest in the care of the whole person, especially persons with AIDS. Residents are supported with case management services, mental health counseling and assistance with negotiating the complex medical, financial and social service systems.

St. Anthony's Home strives to provide quality care that will help residents maintain their integrity, self-esteem and identity and to enable them to accept their illness with peace and with dignity.

St. Anthony's Home believes in the dignity and worth of each individual, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin or sex.

St. Anthony's Home believes that the medical, social, physical, psychological and spiritual needs of each person should be fulfilled.

St. Anthony's Home believes that the resident's care is improved in an environment where staff development and learning take place. Staff participation in community activities relating to HIV/AIDS is encouraged.

St. Anthony's Home bases its beliefs on the principles of Gospel teachings, Christian Charity, moral and ethical practices as defined by the Catholic Church today.
